Who did you said went to jail?

So a couple of days ago I had a very interesting morning. In the famous words of Sophia, “Picture it. Topeka. 2010.”

I woke up at 5:15 am to get ready for work. First thing that goes through my head is, “Damn, I had a really good nights sleep.” Next thing is. WHERE IS FUCK IS SHANE?

I sit up and totally have a freak out moment. Shane is usually out late on Tuesday nights playing “Vampire” with his friends. So it’s not unusual for me to head to bed before he gets home. I get up and start looking to see if he is upstairs playing “Dragon Age: Origins” because if he is I would have kicked his ass. Nope. Not there. I’m getting worried.

I call his cell phone. Straight to voicemail. CRAP!

I don’t’ have any of Shane’s friends programmed in my phone so I get on Facebook and see if I can find their numbers. I leave several messages. I finally call work and talk to my boss. I start to cry as I tell her that I can’t find Shane and I can’t get a hold of anyone. Of course she asks me if Shane and I got into a fight. I said no, but I’m going to get into one with him if I find out where the hell he is. I hang up wondering if I need to start calling the local hospitals.

Holidays Officially End

This item was filled under [ Out and About ]

Decorations are down. Tree is put away. Snow is still on the ground but the holidays are now over. Working retail can surely suck all the fun out of the holiday season. And this one was no different. I’m just glad I have family and friends that still make these past 2 months enjoyable.

This year like everyone else I curbed my spending. But I was still able to get many things on friends and family’s Santa list. I even still have one more surprise present for Shane that I found in an Ad on Facebook of all places.

And Santa was very good to me also this year. I got a Sony 6GB HDD Handycam that has some awesome face recognition features. Basically it recognizes faces that you record and when you catalogue them on the computer, you can pick a face and it will show you all the other clips that has that persons face in it. It will also analyze pictures and videos that you have already taken and apply the same face recognition. This is going to be some fun to play with.

I also got a $40 gift card to Sonic. This has me super stoked. Our car window has been broken for about the last year so I have not been able to take part in my Sonic addiction as much as I would like. This gift card will be put to very good use as it already has.

Finally I got the book “Push” to ready before I go and see the movie “Precious”. I might have to head to KC to see this movie as I’m not sure it will be showing here in Topeka but I’m sure it will be worth the trip.

So here is too a great holiday season and looking forward to spending 2010 with family and friends.

Kish Make Love on OLTL

This item was filled under [ Music, TV ]

I’m sure most of you do not follow soaps but some ground breaking TV took place on Wednesday’s episode of One Life to Live.

Kish (Kyle and Oliver Fish) made love on New Years Eve. For a soap the love scene was pretty racy and on par with any other love scene on daytime TV. Both actors have an amazing chemistry and it shows in the scenes between them.

Kyle is played by straight actor Brett Claywell and Oliver Fish is played by Chris Evans gay brother Scott.

The love scene gets underway at about 3:50 into the clip. The song “My Confession” by Rie Sinclair & Friends was recorded specifically for this episode and can be purchased on iTunes.

This item was filled under [ Out and About ]

Just found the feature in Word 2007 that allows you to post documents directly to your blog, be it WordPress, Windows Live Spaces, Blogger, ect. With this feature I will be updating my blog more often. Keeping my blog and my main site ctrlaltgeeks.com up to date is my ONE New Years resolution. I aim high don’t’ I?

So make sure you bookmark my site if you haven’t already done so and make sure you check back often after the new year. I’ll be blogging soon about all the damn snow we had the last couple of days and how it’s been a pain in my “shoulders”.

Take care all and hope you are having a very happy holidays.

Ding Level 80!

wowscrnshot_032109_163724

So it’s been a very busy week for CiaraSwift, my dwarf hunter in World of Warcraft. First of all, Ciara is finally my first level 80 in the game. It seemed to be easier going from 70 to 80 then it did going from 60 to 70.  Shane made me wait until he was home before I finally got the last level. I’m so glad it’s finally over and I can participate in heroics now with our new guild Anomaly on the Cairne server.

But that was not all. We also decided to take down UBRS and Molten Core. Then to top off the day of adventuring we killed Onyxia. Had a blast and got the achievements for each dungeon except for Onyxia. Had done her on Blackwing Lair server with Catalyst.

And finally, Shane gave me 4000 gold to buy my artisan riding skill so I could start the netherdrake quests to get a blue netherdrake mount. I’m really excited but will probably be sick of the reputation grinding by the end of the week.

All in all a great start to the weekend.

Hot Video Game Men and the Bright Blue Penis

Chris Redfield

First off. Who here thinks that Chris Redfield is one of the hottest male video game characters? I was checking in the games at work the other day and I was stunned by how hot this guy was. Now I know he is a video game character, but DAMN! Could they have made him any sexier.

Secondly, I went to see the “Watchmen” tonight with Shane and two of our new friends here in Topeka. I was not really that excited about going to see the movie as I have never read or really heard of the graphic novel. I had also heard some not so great reviews of the movie. But I went ahead and saw it anyway.

I’m very happy that I did. It has a very long run time of almost 3 hours but I didn’t feel like I was wasting away in the theater. The story while very dark, was also a very good commentary on the current state of mankind. I enjoyed that it was a superhero movie without really any superheroes. The music was also very good and enhanced the storyline.

And finally for the big blue penis. For me that made the biggest statement of all in the movie. Here is a character that transcends time and space and we are still gawking over his nakedness. When will human nature take nudity for what it is worth. Ourselves in our natural state. Only we can attach something more to it such as sex and vulgarity. I feel that day may only come after we stop trying to kill each other.

I give the movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Wal-Mart vs. Target: During the Recession, It’s No Contest

Working for both companies I find this article very interesting. The author makes a very good point about the types of visitors both retailers attract and how that is translating to profits and losses during the current resession.
